Best Smartphone Cameras 2014

As smartphones become ubiquitous, they are quickly replacing point and shoot cameras as the go-to devices for taking photos. The quality of the cameras in smartphones is quite good and smartphones make it easy to share the photos with others wherever you are.
But not all smartphone cameras are created equal. Here are the best camera smartphones available now.

1. Apple iPhone 6 Plus:

No phone camera is perfect, but the iPhone 6 Plus comes closest. Its killer feature is superfast phase-detection autofocus (what Apple calls "focus pixels") that blows away the competition. Optical image stabilization is the top notch.. And it now has the ultra slow motion feature which records a 720p video at 240fps!!! That's crazy!! It also records a full hd video at 30fps of 60 fps.Ois smoothens videos and 60fps video combined with OIS looks great! The true tone dual led flash does a great job..Low lighting performance has improved a lot..There's less noise with the photos this time around.. (Compared to the previous generation iPhone 5s).. Overall it's the best camera on a smartphone you can get today.

2.Samsung Galaxy Note 4:

The Note 4 has 16MP rear camera with Optical Image Stabilisation(OIS).It has cool features like selective focus, various shooting modes and we can download additional modes right from the camera app.It focuses really fast and takes good photos using OIS and also helps to reduce noise in low light conditions.flash does a good job.HDR is good and 4K video can be recorded at 30fps and 1080p video at 30fps or 60fps.It features slo-mo which was first seen in iPhone 5s i.e. 120fps at 720p.Secondary camera is good for wide angle selfies.

3.Nokia Lumia 1020:

The Lumia 1020 has a whopping 41MP camera with LED flash and built-in Xenon flash. It has Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and takes excellent photos with 41MP sensor which has Carl Zeiss lens and Pureview technology. This camera is a killer!!yYou can get a ton of more details in the photo than it is in the regular cameras. It can record full HD 1080p videos at 30fps and can take photos of higher resolution at 38MP and normal 5MP photos simultaneously to share the photos easily on social media. This is the best camera on a smartphone till date.

4.Sony Xperia Z3:

Sony sticks to its headline-grabbing 20.7 Megapixel rear camera on the Z3 , but remember , as with the other Z models , that the full resolution isn't used in the default Superior Auto mode-It uses 8MP instead.Much of what the Sony Xperia Z3 does is very good, but there are lot of options. You can select the metering , focus type, and change the ISO sensitivity for example which is nice, but you really just want these things to happen for you all the time.4K video and steadyshot stabilisation which are very effective are most welcomed. The Sony Xperia Z3 is capable of some excellent photos and video. It suffers the normal downsides of image noise in low-light - a result of light dropping and the ISO rising as a result. Up to about ISO 1280 the results are passable, beyond that the ISO boost is detrimental overall. The Z3 also isn't the best for macro shots, you'll have to back off a little and then crop in again for those extreme close-ups. But overall the Z3 has a very capable camera, with lots of options. It's important, however, not to fall for the "20.7-megapixel myth" - most of the time you aren't using that resolution, nor does it offer you all the options.

5.LG G3:

LG has packed quite a few features into the LG G3's 13 megapixel camera. The dual tone flash looks like it has been lifted straight off the iphone 5s , HTC one M8,but the laser autofocus is the real innovation that we have never seen before in a smartphone camera. In low lit conditions LG G3 focuses and takes a picture very quickly - as quickly as taking a photo in broad day light. Thanks to laser focus and optical image stabilisation. You can of course change a few settings like resolution and HDR and the camera can also capture a 120fps slo-mo video at 720p and upto five minutes of 4K footage.

6. Apple iPhone 6:

The camera has always been one of the most iPhone's impressive feature, and in 2014 Apple said it's gotten a huge upgrade. The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus feature new sensors, better optics, new technologies that aid in stabilisation,HDR and even slower slo-mo,focus pixels(Phase Detection Auto Focus) and much more. They are meant to destroy your point and shoot, camcorder, and even your DSLR.The only difference between 6 and 6 Plus in terms of camera hardware is 6 plus features OIS while 6 doesn't.It takes well detailed photos in low light. It's definitely worth for an upgrade.

7. Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro:

Vibe Z2 Pro sports a 16MP Optically stabilised camera and dual LED flash. It has excellent 'Pro mode' to take professional style photographs from phone.Photos tend to be a bit saturated but thats's fine.Quality is great and it can record 4K video at 30fps and 1080p video at 30fps or 60fps.It can also record a Slo-mo at 120fps at resolution of 720p.
